Deborah McCrimmon is the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel at Ripple. In this role, she leads the litigation and employment teams, as well as the team providing business advice for RippleX, a business unit focused on building new use cases on the XRP Ledger. She first joined in 2018 as the Director of Litigation after 13 years in private practice. Throughout her career, Deborah has supported innovative companies in up-and-coming industries, guiding them as they faced litigation largely for the first time.
She started her career at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich LLP, beginning in 2004, which later merged and became DLA Piper, one of the world's largest law firms where she was Of Counsel. At DLA Piper, she worked with Silicon Valley tech startups on business litigation and developed a commitment to helping small businesses achieve their missions, which ultimately led to her joining Ripple. She received a B.A. from the University of California, Davis, and a J.D. from the University of California, San Francisco.
